The most common emergency room admittance in the United States is for pain control relating to the lumbar spine or lower back.
Many people suffer and are prohibited from working or their normal daily activities. This can lead to dependence on pain medications or narcotics. An alternative non surgical modality is the use of spinal orthotics. Spinal orthotics serve to stabilize the lower back or mid back and stabilize the spine after degenerative pathologies such as dehydration of intervertebral discs, spinal stenosis, spondylosis or trauma (spinal fractures; compression or pathological fractures) occur.
