Great Lakes Orthotics & Medical Supply, Inc. will start by assessing your level of activity. We have three different types of activity levels to ensure you the highest of quality orthotics:

  • Dress
  • Athletic
  • Casual

Dress is intended for men and women who experience foot and ankle pain during their workday. Occupations that would be of recommendation for dress foot orthotics would include construction workers, service industry workers, health care providers, teachers and many more!

Athletic is intended for the daily runner, jogger or biker. If you experience foot pain during your morning run or evening elliptical, then athletic is intended for you!

Casual is intended for the part time worker or the person who experiences these pains throughout their day whether working, walking or shopping. Are you avid mall walker that enjoys an early morning power walk through the mall? then casual is for you!

Custom Foot Orthotics – designed for your orthotic needs.

For Great Lakes Orthotics & Medical Supply, Inc. to assess the proper foot orthotic for you, the process is dependent first off on your level of activity, which is done through a quick questionnaire on our website. This survey will enable our technician and orthotist to determine the perfect solution to your aches and pains:

  • Level of activity
  • Pain generators

Next we will then ask your preference on material this will include top covers and thickness of your orthotic. For more information on what material might be the solution for you, please check our materials section.

After all material preferences, have been decided you will be mailed a foam foot impression. This box of foam will have 2 sides. Both sides will be utilized to take an “impression” of your feet. This will allow our technician and orthotist to determine your arch height, heels, soles and assess other areas of your feet.
